BEDFORDSHIRE
Old Farm Cottage
We were commissioned by our Client to remodel and extend their family home in Bedfordshire, to better cater to their growing family needs, improve daylight and better connect with beautifully landscaped gardens.
We recently secured planning consent for a single storey side extension of the property that will form a light-filled open plan kitchen and dining area with WC and utility. We proposed a gable end with an asymmetric pitch for the extension to enable the ridge to align with the existing house. The low eaves enable the massing to be subservient to the original house.
The kitchen and dining extension is designed as a contemporary addition with new opening and roof lights flooding the spaces with natural daylight. The proposed materials are metal standing seam and vertical natural timber cladding, blending the new addition seamlessly with the existing property and natural surroundings.
The utility and WC extension is proposed to be finished in a through colour render to match the existing external wall finishes.
